Some of the country’s most popular chicken wings will be coming to Manhattan Valley later this year.

Wingstop is a well known restaurant chain that serves cooked-to-order wings and tenders with bold, distinctive flavors. Founded in 1994 in Dallas, Texas, Wingstop now operates and franchises over 1,500 locations worldwide. Wingstop attributes much of its success to what it calls The Wingstop Way, which is a core value system of being “Authentic, Entrepreneurial, Service-Minded, and Fun.”

In November 2021, Wingstop announced its plans to break into the Manhattan market for the first time in a company owned strategy that included a mix of traditional locations and ghost kitchens. Today, nearly one year later the company already operates seven full-service locations across Manhattan, including Union Square, Times Square, Midtown, Delancey Street, and Harlem. Now, Wingstop is planning on rounding out its Manhattan expansion with a brand new location in Manhattan Valley.

New York’s latest Wingstop will be opening up at 2665 Broadway, replacing the former Schatzie Prime Meats which previously occupied the location. Schatzie was a beloved butcher that had operated at the space for years, and concerned locals can visit the butcher’s website for more information about their upcoming plans.

The deal, which was brokered by Ben Biberaj of Meridian Capital Group, will see Wingstop leasing 1,200 square feet of space in the ground floor of the building. Wingstop struck a 10-year lease with Meridian, and the space is expected to be operational by this summer.
