Antonio Marras’ SoHo location offers more than just fashion—it’s a cultural experience. The fashion store’s Italian inspirations include embellished tin ceilings, brick walls, and cast-iron columns.
The entrance hall at the newest Antonio Marras outlet features a 3-D and multifaceted site-specific installation by the Italian designer. This is a tribute to Maria Lai, a Sardinian artist and Marras’ muse. Upholding the tradition of Sardinian loom and weaving, the installation is made of wooden elements and ceramic, tied with ropes.
Handcrafted ceramic pots hold myrtle plants, a nod to Sardinian flora. A large skylight illuminates the greenhouse, which features Baroque details and Neoclassical accents. A large crystal chandelier and carpets further exhibit Italian features.
