Whole Foods Market is expanding its presence on Long Island, with a new store slated to open in Holbrook, New York. Operations will begin at the location in early March. The store will offer a wide selection of local and organic products.

New Whole Foods Market to Join Holbrook’s Retail Sector

Whole Foods Market, founded in 1980 in Austin, Texas, has grown into one of the country’s largest natural grocery chains. The company has stringent quality standards to avoid artificial preservatives, colors, flavors, sweeteners, and hydrogenated fats.

The 43,000-square-foot store at 5801 Sunrise Highway in Holbrook is scheduled to open on March 5, 2026. Regular hours of operation will be 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The Whole Foods Market Holbrook is the 8th store in Long Island. The interior design is based on the uniqueness of Long Island. It includes elements of its past, its creative culture, and its coastal lifestyle. Like any other Whole Foods Market store, the Holbrook store will be guided by the company’s quality standards.

Products to be Featured at Whole Foods Market

Shoppers can explore more than 900 local products sourced from across the Northeast. The items are sourced with the help of John Lawson, Forager for Local & Emerging Brands at Whole Foods Market.

Here’s what the customers can expect from the new outlet:

  • Prepared Foods and Freshly Made Meals

The Holbrook store will feature a robust Prepared Foods department. It will include rotating hot food and salad bars, seasonal comfort foods, fresh pizza by the slice or entire pie, gourmet, and sushi made daily by Genji.

  • Fresh Produce and Floral Selection

Shoppers may anticipate a wide range of organic and traditional produce. The store will also feature pollinator-friendly flowers grown in accordance with Whole Foods’ sustainable sourcing standards.

  • Specialty Cheese and Artisan Products

The specialty cheese department will showcase domestic and imported cheeses. A team of trained cheesemongers will make pairing recommendations and create a special cheese board. The segment will also feature artisan foods from local producers.

  • Curated Grocery and Local Favorites

The grocery shelves will contain a mix of national brands and exclusive products. Products from regional and local suppliers will allow customers to find unique pantry products and specialty foods.

  • Responsibly Sourced Seafood and Meat

There will be full-service meat and seafood counters at the store. These counters will be handled by skilled personnel. Seafood offerings will focus on sustainable wild-caught or responsibly farmed options. Meat selection will feature animal-welfare-certified products and made-in-house items.

  • Bakery and Dessert Offerings

The bakery will serve freshly baked breads and customer-favorite desserts, including regional specialties. A selection of items catering to special dietary needs, including offerings from well-known regional bakeries, will be available.

Opening Day Ceremonies

The grand opening day of the Holbrook store features special offers for early arrivals. The first 300 customers in line will receive a tote bag and a Secret Saver coupon, which may save them up to $100.

Samples of NAVAD Bakers and coffee from Sail Away Coffee Co. will be served to guests. Whole Foods Market will also host community-oriented activities upon opening.

The company will donate food to We All We Got, Inc., a nonprofit that collaborates with local Whole Foods Market stores to collect excess food and deliver it to the needy. Moreover, Whole Foods Market will also contribute money to Pronto of Long Island and Branches Long Island. This will be the continuation of the efforts that it has made to help hunger relief and food access programs in the region.

As the March opening approaches, residents can look forward to greater access to fresh foods and prepared meals.

The retailer embraces sustainability, animal welfare, and transparent ingredient sourcing. There is an elaborate labeling program that aims at assisting the shoppers in making informed buying decisions.

Whole Foods Market gains a competitive edge by emphasizing local and regional suppliers. Community-giving practices, environmental efforts, and pledges to minimize food waste and plastic consumption set it apart from other retailers.
