Target will open two new stores on March 29 as part of its ongoing expansion. The new locations plan to bring the retailer’s affordable products, easy shopping, and same-day services closer to more customers while also supporting local job creation.

Target to Open Two New Stores This Weekend

Target has announced the opening of two new stores with a strategy to expand with varied store formats in New Jersey.  The new locations include a small-format store in Jersey City, New Jersey (Journal Square) and a larger-format store in West Orange, New Jersey.

Target is expanding its store network by opening new retail spots across multiple states. These openings are part of Target’s long-term plan to reach more shoppers and strengthen its presence across New Jersey.

“Our continued commitment to opening new stores is really about showing up for our guests and our communities – and it starts with our incredible store team members,” said Chief Stores Officer Adrienne Costanzo, who started her Target career 20 years ago at T-108 in Evansville, Indiana.

“These new stores give our teams the tools and environments to bring our merchandising strengths to life, create easier and more inspiring shopping experiences, and use technology to move smarter and faster every day. It’s how we keep growing thoughtfully, stay connected to our communities, and make Target an even better place to shop,” Costanzo added.

New Jersey: Jersey City

The store in Jersey City will be located at 104 Sip, covering 40,000 square feet. It is designed to help commuters with its access to public transportation, quick service, and extended hours.

The store will be open from 7 AM to 10 PM and is expected to employ more than 90 team members. It will feature amenities like Starbucks Cafe and CVS Pharmacy. The new store will also offer other services like Order Pickup, same-day delivery with Target Circle 360, and Drive-up.

West Orange

The larger West Orange store at 235 Prospect Avenue spans 150,000 square feet. Open daily from 8 AM to 11 PM, it will employ 280 team members. It will offer similar fulfillment services like Drive Up, Order Pickup, and same-day delivery with Target Circle 360.

It will also feature next-day delivery service to all of West Orange. Additional features include Target Optical, Starbucks Cafe, and CVS Pharmacy.

The openings mark Target’s 55th store in New Jersey, highlighting its steady expansion in the state.
