Meijer will open a new grocery store in Fishers, Indiana, in September. The store will offer a smaller, food-focused shopping experience to customers. It will also offer digital shopping options for an easier experience.
Meijer is Opening a New Grocery Store in Fishers
Meijer is expanding its Indiana footprint with a new location at 15700 Southeastern Parkway in Fishers. The store is scheduled to open September 30. The 75,000-square-foot location will be Meijer’s second grocery-format store in Indiana.
According to a Meijer announcement, the location will provide a food-focused shopping experience with fresh groceries and the retailer’s everyday-low-price approach. The Fishers location will be Meijer’s 45th store in Indiana.
A Meijer Express fuel station will open next to the store on September 2, offering fuel, snacks, drinks, and prepared food. Meijer’s mPerks loyalty program will also allow shoppers to earn rewards and save on groceries and fuel.
Meijer has operated in Indiana since 1994 and currently employs more than 13,000 people across the state. The retailer operates more than 500 stores and other locations throughout the Midwest.
Vice President of the Indiana Region for Meijer, Jess Murray said, “We’re excited to open our second Meijer Grocery location in Indiana, continuing to bring this convenient format to more communities to help customers quickly find fresh foods and everyday essentials at consistently low prices. These stores are designed to provide customers with a great shopping experience, right in the communities where they live and work each day.”
Inside the Meijer Grocery Format
The new Meijer grocery store is different from its large supercenters. The smaller format is intended to provide a more streamlined grocery-shopping option. It will include fresh produce and everyday groceries, bakery, meat and seafood, deli, pharmacy, and other products.
The Meijer grocery store will also offer the retailer’s private-label products. It will carry brands such as Frederik’s by Meijer and True Goodness.
The Fishers store will also feature several ways to shop. This includes Shop & Scan, Meijer Home Delivery, Grocery Pickup, and the mPerks loyalty program.
