Albany’s Kitchen 216 Sets Temporary Closure

After eight years of service, Kitchen 216 will temporarily close its Albany location. Owner Emry Young opened the restaurant in 2018 at 161 Washington Avenue.

Over time, the restaurant has built a following for its soul food menu. The menu includes popular dishes like lamb chops, fried chicken, and turkey wings.

Through an Instagram post, Young shared the closure announcement. He said, “We want to share that we will be closing for a short period of time.”

“As many of you know, we are expecting a new baby soon! During this time, we’ll be focusing on our growing family, as well as making some major systems and operational changes within the business,” the owner added.

The post also thanked the community, stating, “We are incredibly grateful for each and every one of you. Your loyalty and support over the past 8 years mean everything to us. This past year, especially, has been nothing short of amazing.”

The restaurant has not yet shared any specific date or details of the upcoming concept.

“We’ll continue to keep you updated on all important changes, including our reopening date,” assured the restaurant.

Until then, the restaurant has encouraged its fans to visit before the closure. “We will continue operating during our normal business hours — 11 AM to 10 PM — through April 25th,” said the restaurant owner.
