After Hours, an elevated bar promising “lavish Miami old money vibes,” is preparing to open in Downtown Palm Springs, according to a community tip. Located at 369 N Palm Canyon Drive, the venue occupies the former Alibi/Azul building.
The business will take over the upper floor, with an upscale lounge and rooftop patio. An eatery called Sunset California Cuisine is reportedly the new tenant for the bottom floors. It’s a two-story Spanish Colonial-style property in the heart of downtown.
According to the Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce business directory, the concept will be open daily from 5 PM to 2 AM. It’s the creation of longtime friends Jamie De la Torre, Michael Sandoval, Pedro Jiménez, and Fernando López, who have shared the dream of opening this venue for over a decade.
One of the owners told What Now OC they are currently awaiting approvals and had to push back the opening.
The building itself has a storied past. It previously housed The Alibi, a 300-capacity independent music venue that opened in 2019 before closing in 2022 following a lawsuit and ownership dispute. Before that, it was home to Georgie’s Alibi Azul, a well-known Palm Springs gay bar and restaurant, the Los Angeles Times writes.
