Among the newly announced tenants of the upcoming food hall in San Clemente is a local entrepreneurial couple that is starting a new Middle Eastern concept, the OC Register writes. The owners of Rocket Fizz soda and candy shop are venturing into the restaurant industry with The Pita, which they will open at Miramar Food Hall — 1720 N El Camino Real.

Husband-and-wife owners Niko Haghnazari and Evet Sahakian are not new to the business world; she owned a boutique for a while, and they have run the local Rocket Fizz franchise for a number of years. But this is their first time in the food industry, and they are excited for the new venture.

“We love the community, and we are just looking for community support as a small business,” Sahakian told What Now OC.

“We’re in construction. We’re near completion. In about two months, the keys will be handed over to us tenants, and then we have to do our tenant improvements, get our equipment in, our signage up, and our inventory ordered. Hopefully be doing a grand opening by the end of the year,” she added.

The Pita’s menu will revolve around shawarma, gyros, pita, falafel, hummus, and other staples of Mediterranean street food. Some teasers posted by the brand on Instagram show what to expect. Staffing will happen closer to opening.
