Mac’s Tavern, a locally owned bar and casual dining concept, is getting ready to open in Mission Viejo at 27567 Puerta Real.
The new concept will open in the former home of Costello’s within Puerta Real Plaza, according to a liquor license application. The 4,200-square-foot neighborhood tavern will sit in a retail center anchored by Target and featuring a mix of services and restaurants. While few details are available about this new concept, customers can likely expect a handful of beers and cocktails, along with a variety of American classics.
Mac’s Tavern will be part of a prominent shopping plaza at the intersection of Crown Valley Parkway and Puerta Real, with visibility from Interstate 5. The plaza serves as a retail destination for Mission Viejo and the surrounding South Orange County communities, offering convenient access for residents and daytime traffic.
Puerta Real Plaza sees high traffic counts along nearby roads, with more than 310,000 vehicles traveling Interstate 5 daily and 60,000 on Crown Valley Parkway, according to the property’s brochure, which also teases Mac’s Tavern as “Coming Soon.” The location is expected to serve a wide local customer base, with nearly 127,000 people living within three miles of the plaza.
With its established plaza location and strong surrounding demographics, this will be an excellent landing spot for Mac’s Tavern, bringing a locally owned tavern experience to Mission Viejo.
