A former Bank of America site in the Smoke Tree Village shopping plaza in Palm Springs could soon be home to an In-N-Out Burger, according to The Palm Springs Post. The franchise is being considered for the location, with formal plans expected to be filed soon.
If approved, this would be Palm Springs’ first In-N-Out location. The Southern California-based burger chain, known for its simple menu and fresh ingredients, operates about 400 restaurants across eight states. The closest locations to Palm Springs are currently in Rancho Mirage, Cabazon, and Thousand Palms, per the company’s website.
The Palm Springs Post also reported that a previous plan to open in the city was halted, at another former bank building at the intersection of East Palm Canyon Drive and Sunrise Way. That property was subsequently declared a historical property.
CNBC reports the company remains privately owned by the Snyder family, with Lynsi Snyder, granddaughter of founders Harry and Esther Snyder. She has served as president since 2017. The chain generates approximately $2.1 billion annually.
