Shake Shack is currently under construction in the Orange Street Plaza in Redlands at 402 Orange St. The location was formerly home to a Corner Bakery Cafe, according to Redlands Daily Facts.

The news comes only weeks after Shake Shack shuttered five stores in the Southern California market, with the company citing underperformance at those locations as the reason for the decision.

However, the company still has 19 active stores across Los Angeles, Orange and San Bernardino Counties, including spots in Costa Mesa, Irvine Spectrum Center and Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga.

The chain, which began in New York in 2001, has grown to more than 500 locations internationally. It offers American fast-casual classics such as hamburgers, cheeseburgers, fries, chicken sandwiches and shakes.

As of now, the timeline is unclear for when this new location will open.
