After 27 years of serving the Corona del Mar community, Rose Bakery Cafe is expanding with a second location in Irvine, according to Cal Biz Journal. Partnering with Laventina’s Big Cheese Pizza, the new co-joining concept will open in the Stonecreek Plaza business center — 4180-4330 Barranca Pkwy.
A marketing rep tells What Now OC that the Irvine location will focus on quick takeout service but will provide 20 to 30 outdoor seats for al fresco dining. It will be run by John De Carrier, who bought the business from the previous owners, Shawn and Dai Lim, in 2022.
Rose Bakery Cafe has a breakfast and lunch menu, with eggs Benedict, burritos, avocado toast, wraps, sandwiches, an assortment of pastries, donuts, cronuts, and specialty coffee drinks. In 2024, the eatery was named one of the best breakfast spots in OC by the Orange County Register.
De Carrier also operates several other business under his venture De Carrier Group, including Decarrier Design, Johnny D’s Car Wash, and Squeaky G’s Car Wash. He also has plans for a third Rose Bakery Cafe opening some time this summer in Orange.
“We are incredibly excited to join the Irvine community and bring the flavors and service that have made Rose Bakery Cafe and Laventina’s so beloved for decades. At the heart
of what we do is our commitment to quality—both in the food we serve and the experience we provide,” the company told What Now OC.
