Fontana is about to welcome a new addition to its dining scene, as Tequileros Taqueria prepares to open at the Sierra Lakes Shopping Center. The restaurant is taking over space at 16391 Sierra Lakes Pkwy, Suite 140, according to the San Bernardino Sun.

A family-owned Mexican food concept that started as a food truck in Lodi, the restaurant has grown to have several locations in NorCal and Central California. Currently, it has a footprint in Stockton, Galt, Sacramento, Manteca, Modesto, Vacaville, Elk Grove, Fair Oaks, Davis, and Roseville. The Fontana store marks the brand’s first move into Southern California.

Strategic Retail Advisors, the brokerage firm representing the landlord in the deal, confirmed Tequileros Taqueria as a tenant at the shopping complex in a post. It’s surrounded by big-name businesses like Costco, Ralphs, LA Fitness, Home Depot, and Lowe’s, brochures show.

Tequileros’ menu spans tacos, burritos, quesadillas, tortas, bowls, nachos, loaded fries, and quesabirria, all customizable with meats like asada, chicken, pastor, birria, shrimp, or veggie. Signatures include the Taco Tequilero, layered with cheese and sauce, and Tequilero Fries topped with meat, cheese, sour cream, and cilantro. Cantina locations also serve fish tacos, chilaquiles, huevos rancheros, and drinks ranging from Mexican beers to margarita slushies and mimosas.
