As part of its extensive expansion plan across the country, Target is opening a new location in Lake Nona, Orlando. The Lake Nona location is one of 11 stores Target plans to open across the U.S. in July. The opening will enhance Target’s footprint in one of the nation’s fastest-growing markets in Central Florida.

Lake Nona to Welcome Target’s 136th Florida Store

Located at 6065 Lake Nona Boulevard, the new store will span approximately 142,000 square feet. It is expected to employ about 270 team members. The store will offer Drive Up, Order Pickup, same-day delivery through Target Circle 360, and next-day delivery throughout the Orlando area.

The Lake Nona store will open on July 26 and will be Target’s 136th store in Florida. The retailer has been in the state since 1991 and has over 22,000 team members.

The new store will also include Target’s new grocery section, which will include fresh produce, meats, and dairy items. Visitors will also find a CVS Pharmacy, Starbucks Café, and Target Optical inside the store.

Target Continues National Expansion with More Stores on the Way

The Lake Nona location is one of more than 30 stores Target plans to open in 2026. The growth strategy is supported by a $5 billion capital investment program. The program also covers over 130 store remodels and increased employee training and store operations.

Target will also open stores in the following states this July, in addition to Lake Nona:

  • Arizona
  • California
  • Colorado
  • Kentucky
  • Massachusetts
  • South Carolina
  • South Dakota
  • Texas
  • Utah
  • Little Elm

Target has outlined a long-term goal of adding more than 300 stores by 2035. Many of the company’s newest stores are designed with larger footprints, bigger grocery sections, and enhanced same-day fulfillment options.

“Our continued commitment to opening new stores is really about showing up for our guests and our communities — and it starts with our incredible store team members,” said Chief Stores Officer Adrienne Costanzo.
