Winn-Dixie, the “trusted neighborhood grocer serving communities across Florida and southern Georgia” since its founding in 1925, is preparing to expand in Central Florida. This week, the Orlando Business Journal published coverage revealing that the company has signed a 15-year lease for a new store opening in Eustis. The new store will join the Eustis Plaza shopping center, at 445 Plaza Dr.

“We’re excited to confirm plans to open a new Winn-Dixie store in Eustis, marking another significant step in our continued investment and growth across Florida,” a representative told What Now on Thursday. “The announcement builds on Winn-Dixie’s growing momentum across the state. On Saturday, Aug. 15, we celebrated the grand opening of our new Winn-Dixie store in Keystone Heights, and we are preparing to open a new store in Alachua later this year, with an additional location planned for Zephyrhills next year.”

Featuring an approach to groceries and service that has made it a favorite in Florida, where it has several hundred locations, Winn-Dixie is also a great pitstop for ready-to-eat foods like fried chicken, deli sandwiches, and hot foods, plus a bakery with fresh-made bread and desserts.

“The Winn-Dixie Company, based in Jacksonville, Florida, is a trusted neighborhood grocer with deep roots across Florida and southern Georgia,” says the Winn-Dixie website. Building on more than a century of legacy, the company is shaping the future of neighborhood grocery through continued store investments, innovative formats and a seamless omnichannel experience that delivers exceptional value both in stores and online. Guided by its purpose to feed and enrich the communities it serves, The Winn-Dixie Company is known for exceptional service and locally authentic stores. The grocer is committed to offering fresh, high-quality products and meaningful value through its nationally recognized Winn-Dixie Rewards program.”

In addition to its several planned locations, Winn-Dixie opened a new store in Williston and has completed nine store remodels this year, the representative said.

“Together, these investments reflect our bold and intentional vision for growth and our commitment to strategically investing in the communities that have shaped Winn-Dixie’s story while creating more opportunities to serve customers across the Sunshine State.”
