The Juice Room was found to be violating the Philadelphia Health Code during its routine inspection on Monday. A detailed inspection report was issued by the Philadelphia Department of Health.
Inspection Findings
The on-site inspector found that The Juice Room’s PIC had a ServeSafe certification, not a valid Food Establishment Personnel Food Safety Certificate issued by the Department.
Loose rubber door gaskets were observed on the juice and smoothie shop’s produce refrigeration unit. The food storage closet’s ceiling tiles were also loose at the facility.
Dust accumulation was seen on the kick plate of the reach-in refrigerator in The Juice Room’s kitchen area. Food debris was observed on the bottom surface of the fruit/vegetable refrigerator in the facility’s front prep area. Dust accumulation was noted on the restroom’s wall as well.
Food debris was found on the floor surface behind the chest freezer in the front prep area of The Juice Room. The Philadelphia facility had debris throughout the kitchen area’s flooring. A detailed inspection report is available online.
The report instructs that The Juice Room’s PIC should have a City of Philadelphia Department of Public Health Food Establishment Personnel Food Safety Certificate. Its application must be submitted along with the fee within 30 days of the latest inspection. On missing the same, The Juice Room may receive a ‘cease operations’ order.
