The inspection revealed several maintenance and sanitation concerns. The person in charge (PIC) did not have the Philadelphia Food Safety Application on arrival. The application was subsequently emailed during the inspection.

Many items were seen blocking the handwash sink, which was placed in the prep area. The items were removed from the sink on-site to make it easily accessible to the employees for use.

A non-NSF-approved stove was identified while in use in the prep area. Food residue was found in compartments in the warewash sinks. Food debris was left uncleaned, and the area was not sanitized before being used.

The fan covers in the reach-in refrigerator had evidence of dust accumulation. Many bulbs on the premises were observed to be burned out. Many flickering lights failed to provide adequate lighting in the food preparation area. The health inspection report is available online.

Follow-up Requirements

The inspector notified the PIC to acquire a City of Philadelphia Department of Public Health Food Establishment Personnel Food Safety Certificate. The department should receive an application within 30 days of the visit. The facility will be subjected to an intent to cease operations order if the deadline is missed.

The restaurant is required to correct the violations before the follow-up. The routine inspections are conducted across local restaurants to ensure continued compliance with health standards.
