According to the recent inspection report, Dim Sum & Noodle was cited for several health code violations, including the following:

  • No paper towels or hand-washing signs were available at the sink in the rear prep area.
  • An insecticide not approved for use in food facilities was found in the storage area, the report said.
  • odent bait was found along the perimeter of the storage, food prep, and front counter areas, but it wasn’t contained in proper bait stations.
  • Soda was seen stored on the same shelf as cleaning chemicals in the server station.
  • Chicken was found thawing in standing water in the food prep area.
  • Mouse droppings were found along the edges of the floor in the storage and food prep areas, according to the report. It was also found on the tray beneath the microwave in the food prep area.
  • Droppings were also found on top of the grease trap in the dishwashing area and near the water heater in the rear prep area.
  • Food items in the walk-in freezer were not stored at least 6 inches above the floor.
  • Bowls without handles and scoop handles were in direct contact with bulk sugar and flour in the food prep area.
  • The report noted that the cutting boards in the food prep area had deep scratches and scoring, preventing proper cleaning and sanitizing.
  • Damaged gaskets were observed on the chest freezer in the storage area and the one-door reach-in refrigerator in the food prep area. Rust was also seen on shelving in the walk-in cooler and food prep area.

  • Residue and debris were observed on the lid of the sugar container in the rear storage area. Debris accumulation was also seen under the grill table in the food prep area.
  • The report noted grease buildup on the ventilation hood. Residue and debris were seen on the floor of the walk-in freezer.
  • Dust buildup was observed on fan covers and ceilings inside the walk-in cooler. Residue was seen on the sides of the kitchen equipment, the report said.
  • The faucet at the three-compartment sink was observed leaking.
  • Dust accumulation was found on the vent cover in the men’s restroom.
  • Food debris and residue were found behind the chest freezers in the storage area.
  • Static dust buildup was observed on the walls in the prep area.
  • Dust and stains were found on the ceiling in the dining area. A stain was seen on the ceiling of the women’s restroom.
  • Unsealed utility lines were observed in the food prep area, as per the report.
  • Exposed drywall was found in the storage area.
  • Lighting levels in the walk-in cooler (32 lux) and freezer (42 lux) were below the required 110 lux.
