A pub and a crêperie were found to be in non-compliance with most of their health regulations. Some of the violations include debris on food contact surfaces and rodents in the food prep area.

Two Philadelphia Eateries Failed Health Inspections
Campbell’s Place and Profis Creperie are two food establishments based in Philadelphia that were found to be violating many food code requirements. The Office of Food Protection of the Philadelphia Department of Health has asked both the eateries to take corrective action.
Campbell’s Place

Campbell’s Place, located in Philadelphia, offers craft beer, cocktails, and a variety of menu items for brunch, lunch, and dinner. Dishes include fish tacos, Brussels sprouts, cioppino, hummus platters, and teriyaki wings.
However, Campbell’s Place could not show satisfactory results in a food safety test by the Philadelphia Department of Health. Food inspectors noted a range of violations in their inspection report.
Firstly, soap was missing at Campbell’s Place’s handwash sink in both the kitchen and the downstairs prep area. Reminder handwash signs for food employees to wash their hands were also not provided at the Philadelphia pub.
The food inspectors then mentioned different issues with the equipment at Campbell’s Place. The bar area’s storage space had a defective under-counter refrigerator. Plus, its sauce cabinet has a missing knob and loose hinge.
The Philadelphia food facility was then found to be using milk crates to elevate beans in the prep area downstairs. There were deep scratches on the cutting boards at Campbell’s Place. The staff was using aluminum foil as a liner on kitchen shelves.
Food inspectors then noted dirty cooking conditions at the Philadelphia pub. Debris and dust were observed in the kitchen area’s hot plate storage shelf and the bar’s floor area. The outer surfaces of hot-hold equipment were laden with grease. Water was dripping under Campbell’s Place’s 3-compartment sink.
The inspection report added that brooms and dustpans were not hung when not in use in the waiter area of the Philadelphia pub.
Profis Creperie

This Philadelphia-based eating establishment is loved by the residents and visitors for its dinner and dessert crêpes. As a casual French food facility, it has been serving a variety of tempting eats, such as caramel apple, bacon egg and cheddar, beef crêpe, and banana and Nutella crêpe.
Despite this, Profis Creperie could not make it through the inspection process of the Office of Food Protection of the Philadelphia Department of Health. Based on the observed violations, food inspectors prepared their detailed inspection report.
The report first noted that Profis Creperie was melting frozen sausage using an unapproved method. After this, food inspectors found mouse droppings in the basement storage’s flooring and lower shelving surfaces. A chest freezer, which was out of use, was also found in the basement storage area.
Food inspectors then noted on cleanliness issues at the Philadelphia-based food facility. There was dust, debris, and mouse droppings on the crêperie’s shelves. Inspectors also observed stains on the chest freezer’s interior area and the walk-in cooler’s floor perimeters.
The report by the Philadelphia Department of Health focused on dust and stains in the warewashing area at Profis Creperie. The broom and dustpan were not hung properly when not in use.
Campbell’s Place and Profis Creperie will have to take corrective action as per the noted violations by officials of the Philadelphia Department of Health. No follow-up dates have been announced, though.
