A Mediterranean eatery is set to open in West Cape May this spring.
Mediterrano by Santorini, owned by Florian Furxhiu, will open at 110 Sunset Blvd., in the former Exit Zero Filling Station space, according to the restaurant’s Facebook page.
The local restaurateur is known for two Wildwood concepts: Santorini, a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant, and Venezia, which serves Italian cuisine. He also owns Tacodelphia, a popular taco joint in Philadelphia.
Although the new restaurant will not be an extension of his Wildwood concepts, Mediterrano by Santorini will serve Greek and Italian dishes, highlighting the most popular offerings from both cuisines. The menu will be seafood-forward, reflecting Mediterranean flavors and Cape May’s coastal setting, the Wildwood Video Archives reported.
The former space will be nearly unrecognizable as Furxhiu plans a full transformation of its interior and exterior.
The redesign will feature a spacious outdoor patio, bringing Mediterranean charm to life with lush greenery, water features, and statues and artwork inspired by Greek and Roman traditions, according to the outlet.
While an official opening date has not been announced, Furxhiu is aiming for a May debut. The restaurant will serve dinner year-round, with lunch added during the busy season from May through September.
