An Afro-Mexican taco spot is broadening its reach with a second location set to open in Philadelphia.
Duo Taco, owned by Roland Taylor, is set to open soon at 1102 Chestnut Street in Center City, according to the Center City Retail Report.
The shop’s flagship location is at 540 Avenue of the States in Chester.
“It was all about a mission to fight all the negative narratives and bring attraction to Chester, making Chester a destination. We did that by the way of food and Duo has been one of our main conduits for making that happen,” Taylor said in an Instagram post. “Duo will go many places. We’re opening a second location in Philadelphia, but Chester will always be the birthplace.”
Popular menu items at Duo Taco include the birria chicken taco, featuring a crispy, cheesy shell with onion, cilantro and consommé dipping sauce; the blackened salmon taco, topped with duo sauce, purple slaw, cotija cheese, cilantro, jalapeño and cashews; and Mexican street corn, coated with mayo, cotija cheese, tajín, a pepper blend and Valentine hot sauce.

The shop also offers taco trios, quesadillas, nachos and birria ramen.
Duo Taco has not announced an official opening date, but customers can follow along on Instagram for updates.
