A New Jersey-based coffee shop plans to open a new location in Philadelphia.
Almost Home General, founded and owned by Robert Doran, is set to expand to the Beach Street Landing apartments in Northern Liberties. The announcement comes after their Old City location at 250 Race St. closed in February, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.
The shop also runs a Philadelphia location in East Kensington, along with New Jersey outposts in Atlantic Highlands, Sea Bright, Hackensack, Lincroft, Oceanport, Jersey City, Westfield and Westwood.
Each Almost Home General location has its “own personality,” featuring a unique interior and specials inspired by its building and community, according to the website.
The Northern Liberties location will expand the growing portfolio, serving not just as a coffee shop but also as a neighborhood grocery.
The coffee menu offers a curated selection of classic coffee and espresso drinks. Highlights include the “Bee’s Knees,” a double shot of espresso with local honey and cinnamon; the “Monochrome,” espresso with activated charcoal, vanilla and maple syrup; and “Moon Milk,” a blend of turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, maca, local honey and cardamom.
While an official opening date has not been announced, Doran told What Now Philadelphia, “We are awaiting a date.”
