A popular hot chicken joint is turning up the heat with two new locations.

Asad’s Hot Chicken, founded by Asad Khan in 2022, will open at 1519 Spring Garden St. in Philadelphia and 102 Marrows Road in Newark, Del., according to an Instagram post.

The shop delivers bold flavors with a fresh take on the classic Nashville recipe. Diners can choose from a spice meter ranging from no spice to mild, hot, hot honey, extra hot and the fiery “Scorchin’.”

“At Asad’s Hot Chicken, we pride ourselves on serving only the highest quality, mouth watering fried chicken made with fresh, halal ingredients. Our secret blend of spices brings the perfect balance of heat and flavor, ensuring every bite leaves you craving more,” the shop’s website reads.

The menu highlights chicken sliders topped with pickles, coleslaw, cheese and Asad’s signature sauce, along with chicken tenders, wraps, loaded fries and the newly added mac and cheese.

Need a break from the heat? Milkshakes are available in vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, cookies and cream, peanut butter and Nutella magic, alongside refreshing fruit smoothies.

Asad’s currently operates 12 other outposts, with Pennsylvania locations in Philadelphia, Bensalem, Norristown, Pottstown and Conshohocken, and New Jersey locations in Burlington, Sicklerville and Cherry Hill.

While an official opening date has not been announced, a post reads: “Delaware is next. Spring Garden is on the way.” For updates, visit the Asad’s Hot Chicken website and follow on Instagram and Facebook.

What Now Philadelphia reached out to the team, however, they have not yet responded. This article may be updated.
