B-UNOS is turning the page this fall with a new beginning.

After eight years on High Street in Burlington, Steve and Ree Capers have closed their restaurant’s doors and are relocating to Willingboro in the former 1911 Smokehouse space.

The couple said in a Facebook post they’re eager to join the Willingboro community and continue serving up the food and hospitality that built their loyal following.

“Many of you have seen myself and my husband for years at that location. You have seen me pregnant with my first son working one week before I had him. You have seen the ups and downs we were faced with,” Ree shared via Facebook.

The post continued, “We thank all of you for your support throughout the years, through the good and the bad. When one chapter closes another one begins. We have learned a lot of valuable lessons in our eight year journey on High St. that will be with us forever and allow us to think differently in the future of our brand.”

B-UNOS, voted New Jersey’s best burger in 2019, has earned its reputation with bold, inventive takes on classic comfort food.

The menu ranges from birria tacos to over-the-top burgers such as the French Toast Burger, stacked with double patties, bacon, a fried egg and a drizzle of maple syrup between slices of French toast. Other signature burgers include the Full Boost, topped with Swiss cheese, mushrooms, caramelized onions and fried pickles, and the Mack Daddy, a house take on the Big Mac.

Seafood fans gravitate toward the Seafood Drippin Monsta, which layers an Angus patty with grilled shrimp, a crab cake and provolone. For plant-based diners, the Vibin’ Vegan features a Beyond patty, roasted peppers, vegan cheese and mayo on a sweet potato bun.

Milkshakes, sides of fries, tots or onion rings, and rotating specials round out the menu, which reflects the restaurant’s mission to push creativity while keeping a neighborhood feel.

The Capers also run two other B-UNOS locations, in Florence and Mount Holly. What began as a small sandwich shop quickly grew into something bigger, with the Mount Holly outpost opening in 2015. The name B-UNOS honors Steve’s late childhood friend Brett, and stands for “the one and only Brett,” according to the restaurant’s website.

While the exact opening date for the Willingboro location has not yet been announced, The Capers plan to debut the spot in October.
