Bald Birds Brewing Co. is expanding with a third location, taking over the former Workhorse Brewing Co. space in King of Prussia.
Owned by husband-and-wife duo Joey and Abby Feerrar, the brewery opened its first taproom in Audubon in 2018 and later added a second location in Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania.
“We’re excited to expand the Bald Birds brand and bring our beer to even more people, especially in an area like King of Prussia that has such a strong sense of community. Opening a third location allows us to grow intentionally while also continuing our evolution into B3 Beverage,” Feerrar told What Now Philadelphia.
B3 Beverage Co. is a craft beverage collective made up of East Coast breweries, including Bald Birds Brewing Co., Yards Brewing Co., Two Roads Brewing Co. and Heavy Seas Beer.
Over the next few months, Bald Birds will gradually rebrand the former Workhorse space ahead of a grand reopening.
“We’re grateful for the opportunity to step into such a great space and community that Workhorse helped build. One of the things we’re most excited about is being able to keep the same great staff. As we make the transition, you’ll start to see Bald Birds branding come to life throughout the space,” he said.
Feerrar said the team plans to upgrade both the interior and exterior, bringing the space in line with the brewery’s other two locations.
“We’re also excited to brew on the 30-barrel Rolec system, which allows us to maintain the same level of quality while scaling production. This new space gives us the chance to not only expand our own portfolio, but also explore contract brewing partnerships and support other breweries looking for production opportunities,” he said.
Some of Bald Birds’ brews include “Chirp,” a light lager with subtle grain and herbal notes and low bitterness; “Gold Finch,” a lager made with traditional German malts and hops featuring hints of bread and honey; and “Second Wind,” a hazy IPA with tropical fruit flavors and a touch of pine.
“Our goal is to be the most trusted beverage company, pouring our passion into people, brands, and partnerships, and building success one drink, one experience, and one relationship at a time. We’re focused on doing what we do really well and creating a place people genuinely want to come back to,” Feerrar said.
Feerrar aims to hold the grand reopening in the first quarter, though no official date has been announced. Visit the Bald Birds Brewing Co. website and follow along on Instagram and Facebook for updates.
