Big Fish Restaurant Group, the hospitality team behind concepts such as Salt Air, Stingray, Sazio, and Taco Grande, was recently awarded a contract for the space currently occupied by Hammerheads Dockside at 39413 Inlet Rd in Rehoboth Beach, according to a Facebook post from Hammerheads owners George Bendler and Cohen Sade.
When contacted by What Now Philadelphia regarding an opening timeline, potential concept, and more, a representative of Big Fish Restaurant Group said that nothing has been finalized, and stopped short of commenting further.
Because of the restaurant’s location inside Delaware Seashore State Park, the state of Delaware ultimately awards a contract to whatever business occupies the space.
Big Fish Restaurant Group is a well-known name in Delaware’s seafood scene, with numerous concepts peppered throughout the state and into Maryland.
As the company writes on its website, “Comprised of 15 concepts and counting across Delaware, the Big Fish Restaurant Group takes pride in delivering quality food at reasonable prices paired with unparalleled hospitality whether you’re seeking an intimate, romantic atmosphere, a family-friendly environment or a local neighborhood bar feel.”
