Blueprint Cookies, the popular chef-driven cookie concept, is officially rebranding as Cookie Head, with Pennsylvania locations set to relaunch soon.
The first Pennsylvania location will reopen in Philadelphia’s Rittenhouse neighborhood at 268 S. 20th St. on Saturday, March 14, followed by the Richboro store at 1079 Second St. Pike on Saturday, March 21. The brand’s other locations in New Jersey, Florida and Dubai are also preparing for a relaunch.
“It goes back to last summer. We internally were thinking about rebranding. There’s other brands in our market that started to introduce other desserts. We were thinking, we can expand into those areas too. We have the recipes and we have the team,” Chief Operating Officer Johnny Ciarlante told What Now Philadelphia.
He continued, “In September, we were in the process of acquiring another small cookie store that had the name Cookie Head. It was kind of a natural evolution to where we could rebrand that Cookie Head, rebrand Blueprint and turn it into this concept where we still have cookies at our core but able to offer new offerings.”
The menu will continue to highlight fan-favorite “Core Cookies,” including chocolate chip, cookies and cream, sugar cookie and chocolate peanut butter, while also introducing a monthly rotation of featured cookies.
New menu additions will include a brookie, a brownie-cookie hybrid, a flourless chocolate cake, as well as soft-serve vanilla and chocolate ice cream and milkshakes.
The anticipated hit is the “Brain Freeze,” a playful nod to the Cookie Head name.
“We have a blender. You can choose whatever flavor of soft serve you want, whatever cookie or dessert you want, and it gets blended. Every bite, you’re getting a chunk of cookie or chunk of brownie,” Ciarlante said.
Similarly, guests can mix in the desserts to customize their milkshakes.
The interior is also getting a fresh new look.
“All of our colors have changed. We wanted to pull away from the navy blue and yellow into more of a playful color that could captivate more of a younger audience. We introduced the purple, the orange, and the pinks, so our stores are more vibrant, more energetic atmosphere,” he said.
Ciarlante looks forward to welcoming familiar faces and introducing new guests to Cookie Head.
“It’s been really cool. It feels like a whole new company. It’s been a great feeling being behind the scenes with my partners to build it to where it is now,” he said. “Our store had a loyal following from before, but I think expanding on that following is something I’m really looking forward to. There are a lot of people who don’t know about us yet.”
