A growing chain is looking to bring a fresh twist on an old favorite to the South Jersey dining scene. Bonchon, a restaurant that specializes in Korean fried chicken, is actively seeking franchisees in the region, reports the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The brand has not selected locations or franchisees for South Jersey, however Bonchon is hoping to establish a strong presence in the region, and intends to open its first local store before the end of this year.

Bonchon’s senior vice president Amanda Millikan states that the chain does not have a specific number of locations it’s planning to open in South Jersey, however she is confident that the chicken establishment will make a splash in the area. She states: ““With the brand awareness that we already have along the Northeast Coast, there’s just additional whitespace in the South Jersey market. With the presence of our core customer and the population density there, it’s just a match made in heaven for us.”
