A new all-day restaurant and bar is set to open in South Philadelphia this winter, featuring a brunch-focused menu, housemade spirits and a lively happy hour and dinner scene.
Brunch Bulls, a new concept from brothers Derrick “Dee” and Jarrick “Jakk” Long, will open at 1638 W. Passyunk Ave.
“It’s myself and my brother. We are joining forces to create Brunch Bulls and add to that fun, all-day brunch atmosphere in Philadelphia,” Dee told What Now Philadelphia.
Brunch Bulls will serve classic brunch favorites with its own signature twist.
“We’ll have the usual brunch dishes–your chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, pancakes and eggs. It’ll be majority brunch all-day and then we’re also going to have some light fare lunch items and dinner items. What I want to do is surf and turf and grits. It will be a bowl of grits seasoned with lamb chops and a lobster tail. It’s a fusion,” he said.
The drink menu will feature bottomless mimosas and Bloody Marys, plus a full bar with signature cocktails like the “Kelly Drive,” “Broad Street Bully” and “Philly Special.”
The brothers also run their own liquor brand, Jakk & Dee Spirits Co., which offers a canned whiskey-vodka mix in flavors like lemonade, sweet tea and fruit punch. They plan to launch the drink alongside Brunch Bulls and serve it in-house. Looking ahead to spring 2026, they also plan to debut their own Cognac and tequila.
“We’ll be able to sell our own spirits out of our own restaurant which is an accomplishment in itself,” Dee said.
Brunch Bulls’ interior will feature a sleek black, red and white color scheme. While the building’s exterior maintains its original red brick charm, Dee said they plan to preserve its character by simply adding new signage.
To stand out in Philadelphia’s bustling brunch scene, the brothers plan to host a variety of events and themed festivities.
“We want to bring something a little different with Brunch Bulls, something other brunch spots may not have–different festivities and activities. We’re looking to have a mechanical bull to play off the name. We’ll probably do that once or twice a month. We’ll do karaoke, speed dating and movie nights as well,” he said.
Dee, who loves hosting and interacting with guests, said he’s excited to share the new concept with the community.
“I want to treat Brunch Bulls like a home and a community for everyone to feel welcomed,” he said. “If you want to come and get a cup of coffee, a pastry and get work done, Brunch Bulls can be that spot. It’ll host crowds. If you have a big party, we’ll accommodate that. If you’re a casual drinker looking for happy hour or a place to go on a date, we’ll provide that. It’ll be a very, very versatile place. We want to make it a hub in Philadelphia.”
