Bucks County favorite El Barrio Cantina & Tequila Bar, known for its Mexican dishes and lively drinks, will close its doors on October 28. The six-year-old spot became a neighborhood staple over the years for its lively atmosphere.

El Barrio Cantina & Tequila Bar Ends Six-Year Run

El Barrio Cantina & Tequila Bar’s name translates to ‘community tavern.’ The restaurant has served Tex-Mex–inspired dishes and drinks over the years. Some of the menu highlights are margaritas and freshly made guacamole.

The restaurant announced the closing date on social media. The note thanked the staff and customers who have been a part of the restaurant for years.

“We first want to thank our amazing staff that has worked with us through the years. You have all put your hearts and souls into making El Barrio the special place it is, and we could not have asked for more. We also want to thank our amazing community of customers that has supported us day in and day out,” the post read.

The restaurant said the decision to close has been difficult, noting that it had become a “second home” for many patrons. It invited customers to visit during the final week before shutting its doors.

“We know this news is going to be difficult for a lot of people, as El Barrio is a second home to many of you. This is so very difficult for us as well, but we know we have the support to make it through. We hope to see as many of you as possible for our last week. We will be open. Please be patient with us, as we will be running out of food and drinks; as we are trying not to waste anything, we won’t have time to go through,” the post said.

El Barrio ended on a hopeful note, announcing that it will launch a new food truck in November.

“We are happy to announce that this is not the end of El Barrio and that we will be opening up an El Barrio food truck,” it said, adding, “We will use this group to keep everyone updated and provide weekly schedules on where we will be. We are looking at an opening date at the end of November.”

Fans can still enjoy El Barrio’s food items by ordering them online through delivery apps like Uber Eats, Grubhub, and DoorDash.

While El Barrio Cantina & Tequila Bar is closing its doors after six years, the restaurant will continue to serve through its new food truck. Leaving behind fond memories, the eatery will be remembered as a go-to spot in Bucks County.
