Big things are on the horizon for Philly-area burger fans. Checkers is continuing its regional comeback with plans for 25 new restaurants planned for the area, reports the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Robert Bhagwandat, Checkers’ senior director of franchise development states that the brand is looking into “high-priority” areas, including Exton, King of Prussia, and Folsom. No leases have been signed yet.

Checkers intends to open the 25 new, primarily suburban locations over the next 4 to 5 years. Bhagwandat tells What Now Philadelphia that the regional holds a profound allure for the chain, saying: “There are several reasons why Philadelphia is a desirable market to expand Checkers and Rally’s. First, the market is experiencing significant economic development for businesses, the growing population of diverse demographics including families and young adults, and in the market, there is a high demand for snacking options, presenting an opportunity for Checkers and Rally’s to establish a strong presence in Philadelphia.”

Checkers is actively seeking franchisees to help spread the brand across the Philadelphia area, though the chain is also hoping to be aided by established franchisees.
