Lehigh Valley residents will soon be able to enjoy a slice of high-quality cheesecake with their fine dining. The wildly popular restaurant chain, The Cheesecake Factory, is coming to Whitehall Township later this year, reports local media outlet WFMZ.

The Cheesecake Factory, set to open in the Lehigh Valley Mall, will be the first of the chain in the region. The restaurant will occupy 8,900 square feet at 250 Lehigh Mall. The eatery will take up some of the space Barnes & Noble previously occupied. The bookstore will eventually return to much of the space, with the Cheesecake Factory filling the remainder.

In addition to the nearly 9,000 square foot indoor dining room, the restaurant will have a 1,200 square foot outdoor dining patio.

While the Cheesecake Factory does not yet have an official opening date, the Lehigh Valley Mall’s director of marketing and business development, Elizabeth DiDuca, states that the restaurant is shooting to open in late 2023.

It is surprising that it has taken this long for a juggernaut like the Cheesecake Factory to reach the Lehigh Valley. The first Cheesecake Factory restaurant opened its doors in California in 1972. The corporate-run chain now has 308 locations.

As the name suggests, the Cheesecake Factory specializes in the titular treat. Purists can order a slice of the classic cake, while more adventurous eaters can sample unusual varieties like chocolate caramelicious cheesecake or toasted marshmallow s’mores galore cheesecake. All told, the restaurant offers 35 flavors of its signature item.

Visitors hoping for something savory prior to indulging their sweet tooths can choose from an array of flatbreads, burgers, salads, pastas, steaks, and sandwiches.
