A 28-year-old Sicilian-American chef and restaurateur is preparing to unveil a new dining concept.
Alessandro “Alex” Fiorello, known for his Italian culinary ventures, is expanding his portfolio with a third location: a bar-focused concept at 915 Lancaster Ave. in Bryn Mawr Village on the Main Line, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Fiorello currently runs Alessandro’s Wood Fired in Wayne, offering a modern take on traditional southern Italian cuisine with locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. He also operates Alessandro’s Pizzeria in West Chester, serving pizza, cheesesteaks on seeded Sarcone’s rolls, sandwiches and salads.
The new spot, whose official name is still in the works, will draw from Fiorello’s previous concepts, offering housemade pasta and wood-fired pizzas alongside several favorites from Alessandro’s Wood Fired. New additions will feature dry-aged proteins prepared in an on-site aging fridge, along with subtle Japanese influences, including sushi-style dishes, the outlet reported.
Potential names under consideration include Enoteca Alessandro’s or Alessandro’s Enoteca. Coincidentally, Bryn Mawr Village once housed Enoteca Tredici, a Mediterranean-style wine bar. Enoteca means “wine bar” or “wine shop” in Italian.
Fiorello comes from a family of restaurateurs and began cooking at just 12. He later served as executive chef at his father’s Fiorello’s Cafe in West Chester, the website reads.
While the concept is still in the oven, this one’s sure to spark interest when it fires up. Stay tuned!
