ChefNardo’s Kitchen to Open West Philadelphia Takeout Spot

The eatery is known for bold Jamaican-American flavors and Vassell’s signature sauces.

A Jamaican-American eatery is bringing its unique flavors to West Philadelphia with a new takeout location.

ChefNardo’s Kitchen, owned by Renardo Vassell, is set to open at 6142 Vine St. 

A new destination for bold, refined flavors. We are proud to announce that our Take-Out Location is Coming Soon,” the shop shared via Instagram.

ChefNardo’s Kitchen offers a diverse menu of entrees, from grilled chicken pasta and shrimp fettuccine to chicken wings, Jamaican escovitch, curry, crab and salmon. Sides include candied yams, corn, mac and cheese, potato salad and vegetable rice. 

For dessert, diners can indulge in crème brûlée, cornbread drizzled with honey or cornmeal porridge glazed with molasses and sweetened milk.

In addition to his signature dishes, Vassell is known for his custom Vassell’s Spices, a Jamaican Scotch bonnet pepper sauce available in flavors such as Original, Sweet and Spicy, Pineapple and Mango Pineapple.

The shop previously hosted private dining experiences for birthdays and intimate gatherings, and also offered catering services.
