Main Line diners will get two new spots for fresh, healthy fast-casual meals this summer.

Chopt Creative Salad Co. and NAYA are coming to Bala Cynwyd on City Ave., taking street-level spots in the new development just steps from the upcoming Blayr residential building, Federal Realty Investment Trust announced in a press release.

Federal Realty is a leader in developing and managing sustainable, high-quality retail properties. The company’s vice president of asset management is eager to welcome the new tenants.

“With Blayr residents beginning to move in this March, we’re creating a vibrant, walkable neighborhood that extends far beyond our property lines. This development represents our commitment to enhancing the broader City Avenue corridor and delivering the quality dining and lifestyle amenities that both our residential community and surrounding neighborhoods have been looking for,” Kari Glinski said in a statement.

With the motto ‘Better Tastes Better,’ Chopt focuses on sourcing local, sustainable ingredients and developing globally inspired flavors.

Chopt is known for its create-your-own salads, warm bowls and wrap options, though it also offers popular signature dishes.

Standouts include the kale Caesar salad with aged Parmesan, artisan croutons, kale and romaine; the chicken tinga bowl with braised chicken tinga, avocado, black beans, tortilla chips, scallions, cotija cheese and marinated kale; and the Chopt Greek wrap with feta, English cucumbers, grape tomatoes, SIMPLi olives, pita chips, chickpeas and romaine.

The eatery partners with Seed + Mill, a women-owned business specializing in organic tahini; SIMPLi, which works with producers using regenerative farming practices; and Enzo Olive Oil Company, which produces olive oil in California.

Colin McCabe and Tony Shure founded Chopt in 2001 in Union Square, New York, to get people excited about healthy eating.

NAYA

NAYA serves Middle Eastern–inspired bowls, wraps, and salads in a build-your-own format. Diners choose a base such as vermicelli rice, brown rice and lentils, romaine, seasonal greens, or pita, then pick a protein, including chicken or beef shawarma, chicken or lamb kebabs, falafel, or roasted cauliflower. They top meals with unlimited sauces and vegetables, from hummus and baba ghanouj to pickled vegetables and garlic whip.

The menu accommodates vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and halal diets, highlighting traditional flavors in customizable, made-to-order meals.

NAYA began as NAYA Mezze and Grill, a full-service restaurant in New York City, when Hady Kfoury founded it in 2008. Raised in Beirut, Lebanon, Kfoury spent summers visiting his aunt in Midtown East and missed the authentic Lebanese flavors of home. He created NAYA to introduce those traditional dishes to the United States.

As the location gained popularity, he developed a fast-casual concept delivering the same bold, authentic flavors.

NAYA also plans to open another location at the Plymouth Meeting Shopping Center in Conshohocken.
