Craft Concepts Group (CCG) is adding a Greek concept to its roster of restaurants in Center City. The Philadelphia Business Journal reports that the hospitality company will open Mona at 1308-10 Chestnut St. within a year. Mona will inhabit a three-story, 10,000 sq. ft. space in the former location of Luxe Home Philadelphia home goods store. The full-service dining restaurant will feature a chef-driven menu and focus on dining rather than nightlife offerings.
This differs from some of the CCG’s other concepts, like U-Ban and Kontrol. The inspiration for the Mediterranean-focused concept comes from CCG’s Owner Teddy Sourais‘ Greek roots. The hospitality group also owns BRU Craft & Wurst and Tradesman’s, which are on the same block as the incoming Greek restaurant, as well as Finns McCools Ale House, Uptown Beer Garden, Blume Burger, Sueño, and holiday pop-up bar Tinsel.
The restaurant currently has pending applications for liquor licensing and zoning approvals. CCG expects to employ 100 full-time positions and 40 part-time positions at Mona.
