Dim Sum Factory is bringing its flavors to Bryn Mawr, opening its sixth location this winter.
The new location at 865 Lancaster Ave. will join existing spots in Horsham, Northeast Philadelphia and Flourtown, as well as sister restaurants Tom’s Dim Sum in Chinatown and Media, according to the website.
“We always tried to look for a space around that area–it’s a really nice, decent area,” the manager of Dim Sum’s Flourtown location told What Now Philadelphia.
The popular spot offers a variety of specialties, including Shanghai pan-fried pork dumplings, steamed chicken soup dumplings, pork and chive dumplings (steamed or fried), spicy beef and tripe, spicy pan-fried dumplings and marinated sliced pork.
“Dim Sum Factory proudly serves the traditional cuisine of Shanghai China. We’re known for Shanghai & Cantonese style dim sum such as our savory soup dumplings, fried buns, Shumai and scallion pancakes, but our entrees are also a fan favorite,” the restaurant’s website reads.
Bryn Mawr offers a growing variety of dumpling spots. Jin Ding serves classic Chinese dumplings in a cozy setting, Manorah offers a Thai twist with unique dumplings and Veekoo brings an upscale take on traditional Asian flavors. Dim Sum Factory will soon join the mix, adding more options for dumpling lovers in the area.
The manager said the restaurant will open in December, though they have not announced an exact date.
