The Station Tap House in Doylestown is set to reopen this spring under new ownership and a fresh name. After 11 years in business, the restaurant closed its doors in March.

“The new group will be reshaping this beautiful property into a new concept,” the former owners shared via Instagram.

Philadelphia restaurateurs Gent Mema, Orbelin Bitraj and Joshua Friedberg will now lead the restaurant at 194 W. Ashland St. The name will be slightly updated to simply “The Station,” according to The Philadelphia Business Journal.

The group, known for their Italian-focused portfolio, operates Antica Italian Restaurant and Wine Bar, Granaio Italian Restaurant, The Library in Collegeville and Versante in Schwenksville.

They also plan to open two new spots in Wildwood this season, including the reopening of Salty Mermaid Bar & Grill and a new, yet-to-be-named concept in the former Trio North Wildwood.

Mema, Bitraj and Friedberg purchased The Station and its liquor license on March 2 and have been rebranding the space. The restaurant is currently open for dinner and will begin serving lunch on April 17, the outlet reported.

The dinner menu features salads, small plates, shareables, handheld sandwiches and big plates. Highlights include “The Station Chicken,” with herb-roasted spinach risotto and Calabrian chili cream sauce; “Seafood Cioppino,” a mix of sautéed mussels, clams, shrimp, salmon, white fish, fennel and potatoes in a white wine sauce; and “Fish Francese,” a lightly battered white fish filet topped with jumbo lump crabmeat, served with linguine, spinach and lemon in a white wine sauce.

To complement the menu, specialty cocktails such as “Engine on the Rum,” “Last Train in Moscow” and “The Orient Espresso” offer a playful nod to the restaurant’s name. Beer and wine are also available.

The Station covers about 8,500 square feet and includes indoor and outdoor bars, a patio and a banquet room for events. It will be open daily except Mondays.

“To the new owners–Best of Luck. You have the most beautiful property with an amazing customer base! I wish you many years of success and happiness!” the former owners concluded.
