HHusband-and-wife duo, Zack and Marissa King, the team behind local distillery and brewpub EasySpeak, are gearing up to launch a new restaurant concept early next year dubbed fondue.,  located at 39 N Walnut St, as part of their ongoing efforts to revitalize downtown Milford and Penney Square.

“We’re really aiming to open a restaurant specifically in our downtown Milford area to help bring our downtown back to life,” says Zack, who owns a number of properties in the area. “We picked the fondue concept mainly because it would draw people to the area. We don’t have a fondue-style restaurant besides Wilmington, DE and Annapolis, MD so it’s kind of a concept that people will travel for,” adding, “It’s something different, something unique, something that people can celebrate special occasions at, but also something that will bring people to our town and let them check out our downtown as it grows.”

As its name suggests, the restaurant will focus on cheese and chocolate fondue cooked at the table, as well as craft cocktails that use the King’s signature EasySpeak spirits.

In an interview with local media outlet, Milford Live published yesterday, Oct 27, Marissa explained that the restaurant “will feature a large bar that…will be the perfect place to start or end a date night and an intimate dining room designed for fine dining and special occasions.”
