Cousins Bhagyesh Patel and Lay Patel, founders of EggHolic fast-casual Indian cuisine, plan to open a new location in Hampden Township’s Gateway Square Shopping Center this spring, with franchisee Harry Patel at the helm.

This first Pennsylvania eatery will join nine EggHolic restaurants already in existence throughout the eastern U.S. and Canada, and it is among five new locations slated to open in the second quarter of 2023. A 3,000-square-foot building and spacious parking offer plenty of room in fast-growing Cumberland County.

“It’s a great location with a big plaza where we can reach a larger audience,” COO Lay Patel tells What Now Philadelphia

Franchisee Harry Patel echoed the sentiment, saying, “I’m looking forward to serving the taste of India that people are missing here in Central Pennsylvania.”

The egg-centric menu consists of an inspired selection of bold Indian food. “Holic” specials include Surti Gotalo and Lapeti, as well as street favorites Desi Omelette and Masala. Curry, rice, samosas, sandwiches, and more comprise the flavorful fare.

“Just like the lahris (Street Cart) in India, our meals are cooked on the spot with fresh ingredients. Our unique blend of spices will take you straight to food heaven,” reads the website

Founded in 2018, the restaurant chain is taking off and garnering praise along the way. Chicago Tribune says it’s a don’t-miss Indian restaurant in the suburbs. Eater Chicago rates EggHolic’s Anda Masala one of the city’s most outstanding egg sandwiches, and Chicago Magazine names it among the top 10 sandwiches in Chicago.
