Manayunk is set to welcome a new dog park and bar where people and their furry friends can socialize and unwind together.

Fetch Park, an Atlanta-based company founded by Stephen Ochs, combines an off-leash outdoor area for dogs with a lively bar and social space for their owners. The park will open at 3720 Main St., in the former Bark Social location next to the United Artists movie theater.

The 15,000-square-foot venue is part of a retail complex owned by Sean McCloskey, co-founder of The Penn Group of Companies.

Ochs told The Philadelphia Inquirer, “When the Penn Group reached out regarding their riverfront property, I immediately came up to visit and fell in love with the walkability and pet-friendly nature of the area.”

The park will feature a turf playfield for dogs, a full bar serving drinks from an Airstream trailer, a coffee bar, comfortable seating, WiFi and outdoor TVs. Reflecting on Ochs’s passion for baseball, each “BARk” is designed with a rustic charm inspired by minor league ballparks, according to the company’s website.

“Allow your pup to run unleashed with supervised Woof Wardens while you unwind and enjoy all the amenities Fetch has to offer,” the website reads.

Beyond its amenities, the Manayunk location will host weekly events such as trivia, stand-up comedy, live music and bingo nights.

Fetch launched in 2018 and operates four locations in Atlanta. The Manayunk site will be its first outside Georgia. Ochs created the park so he could spend time with both his beloved boxer, Oakley, and his friends—without choosing between them.

“His journey to making the first Fetch happen took nearly five years which included hearing “no” from 86 banks due to the uniqueness of the concept! Ochs has been around dogs since he can remember having grown up in a house that bred dogs. He learned from an early age the importance of proper socialization and training,” the website reads.

Humans enter for free, while dog owners can choose a $15 daily pass, $35 monthly flex pass or $275 annual membership for their pets.

What Now Philadelphia reached out to both Fetch Park and The Penn Group of Companies, however, they have not yet responded. This article may be updated.
