Tabachoy Philly, a food truck that serves Filipino dishes to Philadelphia and surrounding areas, is set to open its first brick and mortar restaurant in the East Passyunk neighborhood in early 2022. The restaurant will be located at 1300 Federal St.

Tabachoy, owned by head chef Chance Anies and his wife Maria Anies, specializes in comfort foods from the Philippines including chicken adobe, pork tocino, vegan laing and more.

The Anies currently serve up their Filipino cuisine in a roaming food truck that frequents festivals and pop-ups in the Philly area. The couple announced their plans for the Passyunk Square space on Facebook on Sunday.

Chance addressed Tabachoy’s customers in the announcement and expressed gratitude for those who have supported the restaurant and its mission up until this point.

“Maria and I are so grateful for every single one of our great customers and friends,” he said. “We love y’all! Can’t wait to have a home to show y’all some good ol’ fashioned Filipino hospitality.”

The couple has hopes to open their brick and mortar location in early 2022.

“For now, we’ve got a lot of work to do to make this space our home,” Chance said in their announcement. “Be on the lookout for updates as they come!”
