Fishtown has spent the past several years enjoying a well-earned reputation as a dining neighborhood to be watched. The area shows no signs of slowing down and is, in fact, deepening its stranglehold on the Philly hospitality scene by welcoming popular Ambler brewery, Forest & Main Brewing Co., reports The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Forest & Main will be revitalizing the space at 1416 Frankford Avenue that previously housed Cheu. The aforementioned Cheu shut down in June of 2024, so locals are certain to offer an enthusiastic welcome to a concept breathing new life into the building.

Forest & Main will be making its Philly debut this autumn-while a precise date is not yet available, ownership is projecting a September opening.

Forest & Main made a strong impression on Ambler beer enthusiasts through its British influenced ales and saisons. The new location sees the brewery team joining forces with Dane DeMarco; the esteemed chef will be providing delicious bites for visitors hoping to enjoy a snack alongside their beers. Guests can look forward to unconventional brewery treats including sloppy joes, funnel cake, and French fry towers.

Future Forest & Main regulars can anticipate bending an elbow in a warm and cozy environment. Co-owner Gerard Olsen describes the vision for the brewery as: “a homey, classic pub feel with mismatched furniture and cool artwork and stuff hanging on the walls. I think that the space kind of lends itself to that.”
