Pennsylvania diners with a passion for variety, grab your stretchiest pants. Golden Corral, one of the nation’s top buffets, is eyeing four local markets for new locations, reports local media outlet Mainline Times & Suburban.

The incredibly popular concept has not signed leases for any specific locations, however it is actively considering storefronts in Warminster Heights, Pottstown, Reading, and Downingtown. Golden Corral is pursuing capable franchisees to manage its new locations, alongside determining the best and most advantageous markets.

David Conklin, the concept’s chief development officer, states that the brand takes several factors into account in selecting viable neighborhoods, including strong retail and restaurant development and population density: “What we look for is areas with active restaurant and retail activity and strong local employment.” he explains, adding ”We want to see 20,000 cars on the road in front of us, and we prefer to have highway exposure if possible.”

While the expansion and development is still in its early stages, Conklin says that Golden Corral is hopeful about the four potential markets, stating: ““In terms of the areas — I can say we would love to be there.”

Golden Corral is the undisputed champion of American buffets. The concept, founded in 1973, has nearly 500 locations across the US, with only six in Pennsylvania.
