A popular burger spot is expanding its outreach, opening new locations in Philadelphia and New Jersey.
Gouldsburger’s, founded by Walter Gouldsbury and David Murray, opened its first location in Haddonfield, N.J., in 2023, quickly generating widespread buzz.
Gouldsburger’s is known for its signature burgers, featuring a choice of two fresh ground USDA prime beef patties or a house-made beet burger.
The menu features four standout burgers: the “Gould Standard” with lettuce, pickle chips, raw onion, Cooper sharp American cheese and Heinz ketchup; the “Forager” with caramelized onions, roasted mushrooms, Swiss cheese and truffle aioli; the “Pocketful of Sunshine” with roasted tomatoes, sliced avocado and a cage-free sunny-side-up egg; and the “Smokehouse” with applewood-smoked bacon, crispy onions, farmstead cheddar and barbecue sauce.
Beyond its hearty burgers, Gouldsburger’s also offers cheesesteaks, chicken sandwiches and hot dogs.
The restaurant currently has locations in Bordentown, Medford, Haddonfield and two in Philadelphia, with one soon transitioning to new operators. Gouldsburger’s also has four franchise locations set to open next year, including one in Philadelphia and three in New Jersey.
Philadelphia
“As of January 1st our 2 Logan Square store will be taken over by our franchise developer who wanted to be a franchisee himself,” the founders told What Now Philadelphia.
Robert Katz, Nicholas Ambrogelli and Gary Schafkopf will operate this outpost.
The next Gouldsburger’s location will open in Ardmore at 4 Station Road within the next two to three weeks. Franchise owners Samantha Sandoz and Mike O’Leary will operate the outpost.
New Jersey
In New Jersey, Marlton will be the first new Gouldsburger’s location, opening in early January at 27 N. Maple Ave.
Glassboro will follow at 111 High Street, with a planned opening by March 1. Mike Murray, who also operates the Gouldsburger that recently opened in Sicklerville, will serve as the franchisee.
Meanwhile, the Cinnaminson location at 1251 Burlington Pike is under construction and aims to open by early spring.
