An exciting new pizza prospect is on the horizon for New Britain Borough. Enthusiasts of the beloved Italian dish are certain to delight at the news that HG Coal Fired Pizza is bringing its signature pies to the neighborhood, according to Patch.

The family-owned restaurant will be taking over the space at 524 East Butler Avenue that previously housed Forlano’s Italian Restaurant. The space’s glow-up will include the addition of 75 additional seats to the 52 existent ones. Construction is currently underway on the alterations, including the addition of a year-round patio.

HG is on track to feed guests before the end of the year; ownership anticipates opening its New Britain doors by late summer or early autumn.

HG has been delighting customers since the 80s. Though the menu features an array of Italian dishes, the eatery of course focuses on the titular pies. As the website states: “Our true specialty is our famous Coal Fired Pizzas made with fresh ingredients, cooked in our Coal Fired Oven at 800° Fahrenheit! HG Coal Fired Pizza is the most pleasant place to share memorable experiences with friends and family.”
