2025 is shaping up to be a banner year for one of Philly’s top breweries. Human Robot Brewing is planning its second new location of the year, this time in Brewerytown, reports the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The popular local institution is taking over the store front vacated by Crime and Punishment Brewing in April of this year. Human Robot plans to honor the previous tenants contribution to the 3,700 square feet located at 2711 West Girard Avenue; the owners intend to craft a tribute to Space Race, one of Crime and Punishment’s premiere beers.

Human Robot co-owner Jake Atkinson explains that the new kids in Brewerytown have nothing but love and respect for its new home’s former inhabitants. He tells The Philadelphia Inquirer: “We respect what they did for that neighborhood. They were there 10 years. It’s not like [Crime and Punishment owner] Mike [Paul] was doing badly. He was just killing himself brewing in that little place.”

Having already served as a brewery, the building won’t require extensive renovations. Atkinson states that Human Robot is aiming for a relatively quick turn-around, and hopes to be open by mid-June.

Human Robot Girard, as the new location will be known, will serve all of the same beers as the brewery’s other locations. Additionally, visitors will be able to lay a foundation for their alcohol courtesy of a limited menu overseen by Rich “Poe” Tamaccio.
