No matter where we land geographically, foodies are united in a passion for great cuisine enjoyed in scenic locations. Though young, Kitchen + Kocktails, a restaurant that serves up Southern comfort food favorites, has already spread its delicious fare to multiple major metropolitan areas, and Philadelphia is next on its list. Visionary multi-hyphenate and the mind behind the kitchen, Kevin Kelley is getting ready to bring the eatery to the City of Brotherly Love, with his eyes on an autumn opening, reports the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Kitchen + Kocktails will be making its Philadelphia (and Pennsylvania) debut at 225 South Broad Street. Locals may note that that particular storefront currently has an occupant, however Del Frisco’s Grille will be shuttering its doors later this month, making way for Kitchen + Kocktails.
Kelley is optimistic that the storefront, located on the ground floor of the Cambria Hotel, will be transformed into his elegant but inviting concept relatively quickly. He explains: “It’s a beautiful space as it is, so there’s not much I have to do aesthetically to change it. We’re ready to rock and roll.”
While a precise date is not yet available, Kelley is projecting an October opening.
Kelley launched Kitchen + Kocktails in Dallas in 2020. Anchored by carefully crafted Southern comfort dishes and a beautiful environment, the concept quickly became a hit. Philadelphia will be the chain’s sixth location, joining storefronts in Dallas, Atlanta, Chicago, Washington DC, and Charlotte.
Future Philadelphia regulars can look forward to enjoying an impressive array of dishes, including southern fried chicken, shrimp and grits, and gumbo. Kelley, for his part, is looking forward to showing Philly just what Kitchen + Kocktails can do. He states: “I can’t wait to get into the Philadelphia market to give them our absolute best.”
