Beloved Dover bakery, La Baguette, is opening a new location in Lewes this year, reports local media outlet Rehoboth Foodie The new store will open at 33323 East Chesapeake Street, #33 in fall.
The new storefront will take over the space vacated by the Touch of Italy Bakery.
La Baguette Bakery is the passion project of Anita Wheeler-Bezy and Ludovic Bezy. While chef Ludovic bakes delicious treats, Anita applies her degree in hospitality management to managing Ludovic’s various baking endeavors.
La Baguette currently has a storefront operating at 323 South Governors Avenue in Dover.
While the Bezys were not initially planning to expand, the Lewes location proved too good an opportunity to pass up. The couple is looking forward to expanding southward.
La Baguette specializes in French-inspired baked treats. The bakery offers catering as well as cake, pie, and tart menus.
The eatery uses all natural and organic ingredients. Its baked goods contain no additives, GMOs, or high-fructose corn syrup.
The Bezys have no intentions of altering operations at La Baguette’s current location. The Dover bakery will continue functioning while the Lewes location launches.
