Landmark Developers, a New Jersey-based hospitality management and real estate development firm, recently unveiled its plans for Durham Springs, a currently shuttered private event space, restaurant, and lodge located southeast of Bethlehem at 5065 Lehnenberg Rd in Kintnersville, with plans to open the main building in mid-2023, according to the Philadelphia Business Journal.
Renovations to the 17-acre property will include a reimagined food and beverage program at the on-site restaurant, while still paying homage to its former glory as the Cascade Lodge, a “popular dining and retreat destination in Durham Township for more than 70 years.”
Landmark Developers founder Frank Cretella told the Business Journal that he wants the 120-capacity restaurant “to have a fun, casual vibe, with events each week such as boils, barbecues, and cooking classes that play off the chefs’ specialties and bring in the surrounding community.”
A representative of Landmark Developers was not immediately available to provide a comment.
News of Landmark’s plans for Durham Springs follows an announcement earlier this month regarding the hospitality and development company’s plans for another historic project, Elstowe Manor in Pennsylvania’s Elkins Park.
As Cretella explained to the Business Journal, “We love the fact that we have these great, unique properties which give us these unique opportunities to enhance and add another layer of the story to the property.”
Since its founding in 2001 by Jeanne Cretella and husband, Frank, Landmark Hospitality has grown a prolific portfolio that encompasses upwards of 10 restaurants including Liberty House, Ferry + Main, and the forthcoming Anzu, as well as some 15 bars and lounges such as Star Room, Have Mercy, Stork Club Lounge, and Pump House Biergarten.
In a 2021 interview with Jason Hartman of Authority Magazine, Frank Cretella said of his and Jeanne’s illustrious career, “We get most excited when our visions get approved, and we can begin to bring them to life because every one of our projects is so personal.
